I am Lia Frank, originally from Texas, but now living in Hiawassee, GA. I recently came into some unanticipated energy, and decided to start writing again, this time about social justice issues. I posted, once a day on TikTok, some that I wrote down and some that I did off the cuff. I received a warmer welcome than I anticipated. I am posting all those articles here now. I hope we can do some good in the world. That’s where I’m aiming. Or as Mal from Firefly would say, “I aim to misbehave.” Or as John Lewis would say I aim to get in “good trouble, necessary trouble.” As much as a white lady can.
This blog was established in 2012 with the pseudonym, Clara Bow, a feminist film critic and lady of leisure in the hippy-gone-lately city of Austin, Texas. I was forty years old at the time, and identified myself as a radical feminist. Some things never change. I described myself as a sloth (code for bipolar depression), a night owl, an itinerate reader, and a lover of nature. Lately I haven’t been much of a night owl, but the rest remains true.
